{"id":38,"date":"2026-05-30T23:58:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T23:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/memphisrockers.co.nz\/?page_id=38"},"modified":"2026-05-31T01:04:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T01:04:05","slug":"lessons","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/memphisrockers.co.nz\/?page_id=38","title":{"rendered":"Lessons"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rock &#8216;n&#8217; Roll BEGINNERS (6 weeks)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next lessons start<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please read the details below.\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/memphisrockers.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/BEGINNERS-LESSON.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/memphisrockers.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/BEGINNERS-LESSON.pdf\">Download this<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Classes are held at the Frankton Rugby Sports Club from 7 &#8211; 7.45 pm on Wed club night.&nbsp; Arrive&nbsp;<strong>10min<\/strong>&nbsp;early on the first night to register.<br>After the lessons is our regular club night which you are encouraged to stay on for.<br><strong><br>Free<\/strong>&nbsp;tea\/coffee\/milo and a biscuit is also provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your teaching team is lead by experienced dancers and teach in an informal, friendly environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What you need to know:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; No previous experience is required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; Wear comfortable shoes ( soft rubber soled shoes are much harder to dance in)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; Bring a sense of humour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Normal clubnight entry fee $5<\/strong>\u00a0[members $3]<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; Prepare to enjoy it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; Partners\u00a0\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>&#8230;..but<\/strong>\u00a0it makes a big difference if you can come as a couple, we are always short of guys. \u00a0Guys who learn to dance\u00a0have the girls lining up.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; If you are\u00a0<strong>unable<\/strong>\u00a0to come as a couple, we will try to arrange partners by mixing and matching either with other beginners or club members who volunteer their time and are prepared to assist with the lessons.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; During the lessons, partners will be regularly swapped around, in a\u00a0circle,\u00a0 so you will get to dance with both other beginners and some experienced dancers.<br>When, sometimes, we cannot balance the genders, as you move around the circle you\u00a0<strong>may not have a partner<\/strong>\u00a0for a short time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8211; If you come as a couple then you can either choose to stay together or for a recommended better learning experience&#8230;join the mix!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t feel because you are a beginner that you would feel out of place during the club night. Our members have a wide range of skill and plenty who still feel a bit like beginners themselves.
